ZOW and Z-TEC are a roaring success!
More than 19 000 visitors flock to Istanbul
Masses visit Istanbul Expo Center: ZOW and Z-TEC attracted more than 19 000 visitors to the city on the Bosporus, making the two trade fairs THE top event for the international furniture sector. This was the second time the ZOW supplier fair for the furniture industry and interior design had been held at this location and the premiere for the Z-TEC specialist event for woodworking and furniture production machinery and both went down extremely well. The lion’s share of visitors were Turkish but numerous visitors from Europe, the area around the Black Sea and the Middle East also used the events to find out more about the latest new products.
“It’s been a great success,” say Peter H. Meyer, founder and organiser of ZOW and Z-TEC, and Suleyman Durdu, Survey’s head of trade fairs in Istanbul, both of whom were delighted by the events. The mood amongst exhibitors and visitors was overwhelmingly positive and all the signs from Istanbul are that the industry is picking up again. While exhibitors at the last ZOW will have become accustomed to high standards, the Z-TEC exhibitors were also delighted with the way the show was organised and spoke highly of the quality of customer contacts made. Most of the people invited to Survey trade fairs are the decision makers within their company. This approach ensures that business deals can be transacted on the day.
250 ZOW and 60 Z-TEC exhibitors came to the Istanbul Expo Center this year and occupied a floor space of 25 000 m². They included many well-known Turkish companies but also familiar European companies with an international profile. It’s no surprise that for the duration of the two events, Istanbul became the hub for the world’s furniture industry. “This event has established ZOW on the Turkish market,” says Durdu, who is already looking forward to the next ZOW and Z-TEC between 16 and 19 September 2010.
